Fat Sunday 2014 was celebrated in some new, unusual ways, both during worship and after!  The congregation was treated to an enthusiastic Flash Mob rendition of “O When the Saints go Marching in”.  At a random, unmarked point in worship, a conductor began with a tap, tap, tap on a music stand, raised her wand, and cued various sets of instrumentalists to come in at different times in the music.  Verse 2 included half the choir singing the lyrics, then the piece concluded with a jazzy instrumental reprise.

Not to be outdone by the musicians, another group organized “pancake races” in Fellowship Hall after coffee hour.  In this relay race, participants were challenged to keep the pancakes on the plates while running as fast as they could.  I don’t recall who won, but a great time was had by all.
