On September 29, 2012, volunteers from many churches in our community met at Ledyard Middle School and assembled meal packages for our own hungry neighbors in New London County.  We learned how to execute this operation from an organization called Operation Outreach.  Just guess how many meals we were able to assemble!  More than SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND individual meals are now ready to deliver–can you believe it?  We feel so glad that we were able to be part of the solution–“Feed my Sheep”, Jesus commanded.

Operation Outreach is a philanthropic organization founded in 2004, in response to the famine and suffering in Tanzania.  Today, Outreach administers a variety of programs, delivering food, water, education, healthcare, and employment throughout the world.  One of their programs, “Meals of Hope”, has packaged and delivered more than 125 million meals worldwide.
