The Gospel of Matthew quotes Jesus as saying, “And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. ” (Matthew 18:5, New International Version)

The Malaya Kids Ministries, based in Tondo, Manila, Philippines, serves children from the city streets and from low-wage earning families such as charcoal factory or landfill scavenging communities.  Founded with 500 children by Pastors Reynixon and Corazon Rosales in 2001, the Ministry currently provides an estimated 1,000 meals weekly in addition to spiritual nourishment.  In partnership with Singapore-based Empowering Lives Asia and U.S.-based Trash Mountain Project, the Ministry also provides educational and training opportunities, medical services, and other services to forge new paths beyond that of poverty.  Ledyard Congregational Church recently supported this effort financially.
