On Saturday, November 4, 2017 the annual Boy Scout Food Drive took place delivering approximately 8,000 food items to the Ledyard Food Pantry. An incredible group of volunteers dedicated their Saturday to come and help sort, inspect and date items. The following Monday another group of volunteers came and diligently packed all these food items for short-term storage.
Based on the previous year’s experience we thought it would take us close to two weeks to get through the whole process, but our previous experience and knowledge gained and with our arsenal of volunteers we finished up in four short days. It was wonderful to see all the different community spirited people come to the Ledyard Food Pantry. Our guests are so thankful and blessed as we are to have such community support.
