The oxalis plant has different parts:  leaves, little flowers, very delicate.  Stems and roots.  When you learn the stories of Jesus and his followers, you are growing roots like this plant.  The roots let you take in nourishment from the soil (the world) and use it in a healthy way to build a Christian life.

When the oxalis plant grows to maturity, it gets tough, knobby structures around the base.  The only thing to do then is spread the plant around the neighborhood–give away portions.  The same is true of our church.  We have to give it away to stay vital–spread the faith around the neighborhood.
